Season For God

Christian Pondering, Prayers, and Poems

I lay my life at my Savior’s feet. With a heart for God, I pray. With a humble mind, I speak.

A Place to Stand

How lost I become
when I hear the monsters
in my sleep
and their voices creep
into my ears,

as if the shadows lurking
in every dark corner
wait for an opening
in a vulnerable heart,

and relish the chance
to destroy from the inside
with the endless tricks
of my own mind.

They turn my dreams
into poison
in hopes of dragging me
unconscious into their hole.

But there is One greater
than nightmares
and waking fears,
or even my deepest wounds.

And He makes the best
of the wreckage
in the broken places
the loveless creatures left.

He finds me
in every blackened ravine
and pulls me out
of the dark,

breathing life back into
where the terrors touched,
sealing every memory
with His intent.

My God cleans the ground,
paving over the places I fall
with the wonders
of His love.
