Season For God

Prayers, Poems, and Pondering

I lay my life at Divinity’s feet. With a heart for God, I pray. With a humble mind, I speak.

Radiant

What humankind does
for the sake of certainty.
Dimming the Divine
while trying to catch the light
in a jar to name and sell.

Shielding the eyes
of children from the sun,

so they will hunger
for the goods.
Gutting us of truth
to chase ideas
laced with charisma.

Training our appetites
to crave.

What happens
if I don't take the trinket,
when I know where
to find the jewel?

What if I know the secret
source of illumination,
nourishing to the core?

What if I can bask in the flame
that lives in my own soul,
and never have to cover
my eyes?

That vast, yet hidden light,
only visible to those
who have found it, too.

We are radiant in a place
that no one else can touch.
